Association information

Transport for Wales (TfW) was established by Welsh Government in 2015.

There core activities are to provide support and expertise to the Welsh Government to deliver the next Wales and Borders rail franchise and the next phase of the Metro project.

Projects

Wales and Borders Franchise

Transport for Wales have started work to appoint a successor to the current franchise operator, whose franchise expires in 2018.

The new franchise operator will need to address key issues such as the growth in demand, the ageing fleet of trains and further meeting the needs of people with reduced mobility.

South Wales Metro

The South Wales Metro will deliver real benefits to passengers.
