Since 1982, KST Lighting is developing and manufacturing electronic and lighting equipments for trains, high speed trains, metros, tramways and buses.

Our product manufacturing is totally achieved in our own workshops. The products are checked by numerous internal tests and external tests in independent laboratories. There is a full and permanent quality control, from design to manufacturing.

The high level of quality and reliability of KST products are well known. Especially a high MTBF and a very low return rate. Our products meet most of international and many national norms (Ex : IEC, EN, UIC, NF F, SNCF, SNCB, DB, STIB, …) KST Lighting has a strong commitment to continually improve its products. KST Lighting provides the design and manufacturing of complete lighting system as reading lamps, passenger compartment lighting, luggage rack lighting, vestibules, toilets, gangways, emergency, etc ...

During the development and manufacturing of our inverters and converters for rolling stock, the R&D engineers achieve permanent and numerous tests inside our laboratory. Tests and certifications are also performed in independent laboratories and universities. The KST lighting and electronic inverters and converters reach a very high level of quality and reliability which, with their presence on the world maket, ensures them a worldwide reputation.

Lighting with fluorescent tubes

Inverters series for fluorescent tubes

The KST inverters for fluorescent tubes are all developed on the same electronic pattern.

They can vary on the type of case, power, input voltage, type and number of lamps in use, dimming, etc … They are available with different types of connectors (ex : Faston, Wago, …).

General characteristics of the inverters

• Low power variation : max 25 % of nominal power
• Operating temperature : -25° to +70°C (Peak of +85°C – T3 Class in conformity with EN 50155)
• Important number of ignitions (>100.000) – optimal preheating for increased tube life
• High resistance to vibrations and shocks (norms hereunder)
• Electromagnetic compatibility (norms hereunder)
• Fire and smoke approved (norms hereunder)
• Conformity to following norms : EN 50311, EN 50155, EN 50011, EN 55022, EN 50121-3-2, NF F 16-101/2, IEC 571-1, IEC 61000-4-2/3/4/5/6, IEC 81, IEC 801-1/2/3, UIC 555-1 OR

• Designed in accordance with the UIC norms (UIC 555-1 OR)
• For one or two tubes, depending on the power and the type of the inverter.

• Also developed for small spaces
• Output configuration for one tube
• Mainly used in buses

The IRS series

• Developed for small spaces
• Output configuration for one or two tubes
• Mainly used in tramways or trains

The KTL series

• Developed with a specific case and Wago connectors
• Output configuration for one or two tubes
• Notably developed fro the German Market
