Assistant Project Manager







HAKS is currently seeking an Assistant Project Manager to manage a large-scale rail/transit construction project.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with contract documents.
  • Coordinate work with multiple stakeholders at active facilities.
  • Review and approve requisitions and invoices.
  • Manage change orders and cost controls efficiently.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with clients, architects/engineers, consultants and contractors.


  • Degree in Engineering or Construction Management preferred.
  • Licensed Professional Engineer, Licensed Architect or CCM required.
  • Minimum of 7-12 years of experience in Construction Experience working with rail/transit projects preferred.
  • Management of large rail/transit projects.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong client relationship skills.
  • Experience working with public agencies such as MTA, New York City Transit, Capital Construction, LIRR and MNRR, Port Authority of NY & NJ, Amtrak, etc.
  • Effective leadership for managing and/or coordinating trades and mentoring on-site staff.
  • Broad knowledge and experience working with project costs and budgets.
  • Strong computer skills -- proficiency in Expedition, Prolog, P3 and Constructware.
  • Valid Drivers License and clean MVR.
