Locomotive Driver (Acacia Ridge, AU)

About the role:

Aurizon's Acacia Ridge Depot is looking for a qualified locomotive driver to join their team on an 8 month fixed-term contract. Based at Acacia Ridge, you will assist with yard operations and mainline driving on the North Coast line to/from Maryborough.

  • Operation of locomotives including line haul, shunting and marshalling
  • Examine and certify trains as ready for departure
  • Work in accordance with Aurizon's safety and operational standards and procedures
  • Provide quality customer service
  • Contribute to ongoing performance improvement
  • Apply 'best practice' train management techniques to ensure efficient and safe train operations
  • Work in driver-only capacity on the mainline

About you: 

  • Certificate in Locomotive Driving or equivalent (Mandatory)
  • Hold a valid 'C' class driver's license (Mandatory)
  • Ability to work on a 24/7 roster
  • Current route qualification advantageous
  • Current QLD safe-working qualifications
  • Ability to meet CAT 1 Rail Medical Assessment and other pre - offer checks
