Director of Product Management (Charlotte, US)

About the Role

As a Product Director at Passport, you will be at the center of all things product. You will lead a team in creating a product strategy and roadmap for your portfolio of products and then inspire that team to maintain and flawlessly execute that strategy. You’ll partner closely with a variety of stakeholders across engineering, sales, and service delivery to ensure customer and client feedback, market intelligence, and institutional knowledge are analyzed and infused into the product roadmaps. You will be instrumental in helping Passport grow revenue through your efforts on your product portfolio.

Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and inspiring a team of product managers to build, deliver, and continuously improve upon their product roadmaps
  • Coaching and developing your team to successfully incorporate client and customer feedback, along with outside market data/analysis to build strategic product roadmaps
  • Navigating internal and external barriers to continue driving forward with the product roadmaps
  • Communicating effectively with all areas of the business involved with your product portfolio, this includes senior leadership team and other teams such as engineering and sales
  • Documenting key workflows, stories, handoffs, and roadmap details in our systems of record and ensuring that documentation stays relevant and up-to-date
  • Develop and maintain project execution schedules, and make adjustments based on business needs
  • Keeping stakeholders focused on the strategic objectives of each product, proactively identifying challenges, and figuring out how to measure our collective impact at achieving the company’s goals
  • Establishing a culture of excellence, learning, and regular best practices sharing within the product team
  • Creating and providing regular reporting against key performance indicators (e.g. metrics for customer satisfaction, operating efficiency, and product quality) and leveraging data from case submissions to provide insights to the broader team about client and customer challenges; escalating key trends to development team for immediate resolution


  • At least 10 years of professional experience, and significant experience managing products and leading teams
  • Superior resource, planning, and time management skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication (written, verbal, and listening) skills
  • Ability to build strong relationships and influence without authority
  • Strong technical background, understanding coding is a plus
  • Process, problem-solving, and continuous improvement mindset
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Bachelor’s degree is required, graduate degree is a plus
  • PMP certification is a plus
  • SaaS company experience is a plus

About You

You know how to take complex concepts, build a strategy, and work across teams to execute on that strategy. You are not afraid of changes along the way - you have a chameleon-like ability to adapt to your surroundings and still figure out how to drive the strategy forward. You obsess over the details. You blend technical ability with business acumen. While you are not necessarily a developer, you may have tinkered and are familiar with development methodologies. You are effective at connecting long-term vision to near-term objectives. Simply put, you have it all together - people enjoy working with you, your team respects you, your clients are regularly impressed by you, and you can juggle it all.

You are incredibly organized. Nothing slips through the cracks when you’re running a portfolio. You measure everything. You are inquisitive, and you know how to listen and incorporate new knowledge into your team’s strategy. You know how to work collaboratively across teams in order to produce the strongest outputs. Above all else, you are also an excellent communicator, both written and verbal, and you understand how to effectively convey ideas to various stakeholders across the organization.

You will have the opportunity to wear several hats, and you should be comfortable learning new things and taking on new responsibilities. You’ll spearhead strategic initiatives. You won’t hesitate to roll up your sleeves and do the dirty work to turn your concepts into reality.
