Transportation Engineer I (Albuquerque, US)

Job Summary

The Transportation Business Unit of AECOM is actively seeking a creative, highly talented Entry Level Civil Engineer for immediate employment in the Albuquerque, NM office.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Perform drafting for multiple projects for the Transportation Business Unit in the Albuquerque Office

  • Assist in the layout of roadways associated design elements

  • Assist in preparing roadway design models in Civil 3d and/or In-roads

  • Perform development of spreadsheets and data entry

  • Assist in processing of shop drawings – marking up drawings based on comments made by an engineer

  • Assist in processing of reports

  • Preparing engineering related calculations and developing drawings and visual aids

  • Attend field trips for various projects

  • Engage with transportation staff to help deliver project work

  • Working under the supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering

  • Attention to detail and quality

  • Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position including typical office applications (Word, Excel, etc.) and drafting or modeling applications (MicroStation, AutoCAD, etc.)

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Certification as Engineer-in-Training or ability to obtain within 1 year

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer-In-Training (EIT)

  • Familiarity with NMDOT standards

  • Forward thinking

  • Team Oriented
