About the Role:

As a Mid-Level Software Engineer at Passport, you will be at the center of our efforts to build and/or redesign scalable software solutions for our clients.  You will design, develop, test, and debug software, and your efforts will be critical to ensuring we are building and deploying code that meets the ongoing needs of our clients.  You will work closely with cross-functional departments to understand and develop project requirements.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and directing software system validation and testing methods.
• Overseeing the development of documentation.
• Working closely with stakeholders clients and cross-functional departments to communicate project statuses and proposals.
• Analyzing data to effectively design new systems or modify existing systems.
• Managing the software development lifecycle.
• Communicating key project information to team members and building cohesion among teams.
• Developing and executing project plans.
• Adept at problem-solving.
• Applying best practices and standard operating procedures.
• Creating innovative solutions to meet our company’s technical needs.
• Understanding basic business context and downstream impacts of code being built
• Testing new software and fixing bugs.
• Teaching software development best practices to others

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field required, the company is willing to accept experience or a combination of education and experience in lieu of a degree
• Three + years of software engineering or software development experience
• Hands-on development experience using relevant languages
• Experience using relevant tool suites
• Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Creative problem-solving skills
• Experience with software development lifecycles
• Ability to prioritize activities and deliver tasks on time
• Ability to work with other departments, clients and business partners
• A comprehensive understanding development concepts
• Excellent coding skills
• Knowledge of agile methodologies
• The ability to travel as necessary
