(TSX:CSU).

Position Overview:

Volaris’ People Transportation portfolio, out of Mississauga, Ontario, is looking for a Director, Mergers & Acquisitions that is accountable for M&A execution, including building valuation models, issuing LOIs, leading Due Diligence, and bringing deals to completion. This role reports directly to the Portfolio CFO.

The ideal candidate will have financial modelling experience, preferably in the software space. S/he will be adaptable, business-minded and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Duties & Responsibilities:

You will take a lead role in the execution of the M&A process under the direction of the Portfolio CFO:

  • Information gathering and Q&A with prospect companies;
  • Evaluation of a prospect’s suitability for acquisition given business quality assessment and internal requirements;
  • Detailed bottom-up, multi-scenario financial modelling;
  • Due diligence, including analyzing financial statements, financial history by customer, and customer agreements;
  • Market, competition, and industry risk and opportunity research;
  • Preparing business summaries, investment memos, commentary, and responding to detailed Q&A from our internal stakeholders;

All of the above responsibilities will be conducted in collaboration with the portfolio team (GM, CFO, Bus Dev, Integration). You will have an opportunity to add value through the entire M&A cycle, working with a driven, high-energy team and senior leaders, with a goal of completing multiple acquisitions per year.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Strong business acumen required to understand underlying business drivers and assess and qualify targets
  • Financial modelling experience is a must
  • Advanced excel skills
  • Superior project management skills
  • Aptitude for teaching, coaching and mentoring
  • Positive, high-energy, self-motivated
  • Strong time management skills and ability to multi-task between various on-going responsibilities to meet established deadlines are essential
  • Ability to travel internationally
  • Excellent spoken and written English
