Embedded Software Engineer

Job Summary:

Our Embedded Software developer will be developing and supporting the next generation CAD/AVL system for transit vehicle application

  

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Embedded software design and development for Mass transit vehicle
  • Design, develop network protocol best suited for transit application
  • Design, development, test, document and maintain project software
  • Architect system for most effective partitioning.  Familiarity with Microcontroller devices and development tools from TI MSP430/NXP PICs/ST Micro/ and others will be beneficial.   
  • Interface with Intel architecture/Arm Architecture environments.  Knowledge of PCIe, USB, SATA, I2C, SPI and other standard connection interfaces
  • Design systems with an understanding of Power management, standalone operation, aperiodic communications, and data security
  • Participate in hardware and software design reviews, and support product testing and validation
  • Interface with suppliers and customers to resolve component and systems issue

 

Critical Requirements

  • A Bachelors degree in Electrical, Computer or Software Engineering or equivalent degree
  • 5+ yrs experience in Linux application/middleware development
  • 5+ yrs experience in Embedded Software development in 'C++' language is require
  • 2+ yrs experience in developing network protocol (MQTT, RESTAPI etc) for IoT device
  • Knowledge of real time embedded systems is required

 

Other Requirements

  • Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud service
  • Ability to communicate and work with multiple internal and external customers
  • Excellent problem-solving ability and focus on getting the job done
  • Ability to think out of the box and work collaboratively with other team members
  • Willing to learn new technology and share knowledge to the team
  • Experience in .net development
  • Wireless communication knowledge including WLAN and public communication such as LTE
  • Ability to understand electrical design/schematics, and utilize electronic lab equipment (oscilloscopes, etc.) for debug and troubleshooting embedded systems
  • Experience with automatic unit testing
