As a key member of the Development Operations leadership team, you’ll be responsible for driving the adoption of DevOps tools and processes, resolving platform-wide automation challenges; as well as developing self-service tools that enable Continuous Integration across the organization. You will help reduce the release process by driving automation testing efforts across several product families. You will leverage your technology experience to provide creative solutions that enable a CI/CD culture, support automated testing efforts as well as to reduce repetitive tasks. You will provide solutions that will help integration testing efforts for software, hardware and firmware layers. You will use your experience to make sure we’re automating critical product areas that make sense and bring business value.

Job Description:

Overview

As the Manager of the DevOps Automation team, you’ll be responsible for managing the team’s day-to-day activities; as well as providing technical direction and support related to technology decisions, automation testing/scripting efforts and development initiatives.  You will use your technical experience to drive new ideas and improvements to the existing build and release processes and support Trapeze’s cloud initiative.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for DevOps automation vision and strategy. This encompasses infrastructure architecture, automation, configuration management, security and documentation.
  • Responsible for the automation technology stack and scripting implementation plans
  • Responsible for team’s day-to-day activities and deliverables. This includes managing onshore and offshore team members; as well as their individual performance.
  • Set priorities, goals and performance expectations to meet Trapeze’s objectives and product specific goals
  • Provides technical guidance, direction, coaching, mentoring to team members as required.
  • Oversees the delivery of commitments across all team members.
  • Collaborates with other technical resources and leads to drive improvements in the build and release process.
  • Defines and oversees the implementation of the automation strategies across different software products
  • Promotes the adoption of a DevOps mentality across Trapeze’s technical and operation teams.

Requirements:

  • BS University Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • 5 years of experience leading a team with successful results
  • 5 years of experience in a technical leadership role
  • 5 years of proven development experience
  • 1-3 years of experience using Chef, Terraform, Powershell
  • 1-3 years of experience developing using the .NET framework
  • 3 year’s experience in a DevOps Engineer role
  • Expert knowledge in software build and release processes
  • Familiarity with automation tools and concepts
  • Experience with implementing CI/CD pipelines
  • Strong advocate for DevOps mentality, processes and best practices
  • Familiarity with infrastructure concepts
  • Experience managing source control solutions like SVN and GIT
  • Experience managing build servers like Bamboo or Jenkins
  • Experience using binary repositories like Artifactory, NPM, etc
  • Experience implementing automation technologies like Selenium, Protractor, SoapUI, etc.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Azure offering and technologies
  • Familiarity with Static Code Analyzers

Assets:

  • Experience in software architecture or solution architecture
  • Experience automating infrastructure-as-a-code using Azure
  • Familiarity with software security concepts and technologies
  • Familiarity with web development technologies like Angular, React
  • Familiarity with Node.JS
