Project Planning & Control Analyst

Job Summary:

*Please note, that due to Covid, this role is currently remote for safety measures, otherwise this is an in-office position*

As a project controller, you will apply our principles to help keep work on track from the very beginning of a project.  You will be responsible for providing key financial services to all members of the project team and management.  This means managing project logistics far beyond scheduling meetings and maintaining spreadsheets. 

This role is about budgeting and forecasting, interpreting and maintaining compliance with our policies, and financial analysis, including reporting progress against budget plans and schedules. 

 

Job Description:

You’ll have the opportunity to participate in everything from behind the scenes details to the big picture.  In a sense, you’ll operate as a project’s Chief Financial Officer, working alongside our project managers beginning to end. If you are not afraid to get into the details, are highly analytical, have excellent communication skills, and are able to work well with others, this role may be for you.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Reporting and working closely with the Lead Project Controller and the Accounting and Controlling Manager, responsibilities will include:

  • Providing consistent, accurate, and timely financial reporting and analysis, including quarterly EACs, monthly project forecasts, and project invoicing.
  • Effectively communicating with Project Management, Legal, and Finance regarding contract documents, change orders, other contract modifications, approvals, and any additional services related to billing.
  • Supporting Project Management, Financial Management, Sales, and other functional teams as requested.
  • Preparing proposal pricing in coordination with sales and other functional departments.
  • Complying with financial policies and procedures.
  • Evaluating opportunities for process improvements and implementing best methods.
  • Completing other financial responsibilities as assigned.

 Requirements:

  • 3 - 5 years experience in finance, accounting or project management is required
  • BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or Business Management preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication is a must
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office is required, an advanced knowledge of Excel is preferred.
  • Familiarity an ERP system, such as Microsoft Dynamics Great Plains.
  • Attention to detail, timeliness on delivering commitments, and the ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
  • Ability to gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and propose solutions
  • Aptitude to effectively communicate with people at all levels and from various backgrounds
