Job Summary:

As a Senior Finance Manager, you will be part of the Volaris Communications & Media Portfolio team (www.volarisgroup.com/comms), reporting directly to the VP of Finance. The Portfolio team oversees the global businesses under its umbrella and has a mandate to grow organically and through acquisitions. As the Senior Finance Manager, you will be accountable for financial reporting and compliance across all portfolio companies.

The position will be based at our head office, located in downtown Toronto.

Position Overview:

As a Senior Finance Manager, you will be part of the Volaris Communications & Media Portfolio team (www.volarisgroup.com/comms), reporting directly to the VP of Finance. The Portfolio team oversees the global businesses under its umbrella and has a mandate to grow organically and through acquisitions. As the Senior Finance Manager, you will be accountable for financial reporting and compliance across all portfolio companies.

The position will be based at our head office, located in downtown Toronto.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Train and coach finance teams within portfolio companies to ensure they are equipped to follow financial reporting standards (IFRS)
  • Review and perform quality assurance of month-end and quarter-end close deliverables submitted by portfolio companies
  • Work with portfolio companies’ finance teams to improve efficiencies related to the financial close process
  • Lead creation of long-range forecasts and validate quarterly variance analyses
  • Oversee financial and management reporting of individual portfolio companies with a focus on key operating ratios to identify issues and opportunities for operational improvements
  • Own risk management framework, including periodic internal audit spot checks to enforce adherence to corporate policies
  • Oversee financial integration of new acquisitions, including roll out of corporate financial systems and reporting requirements
  • Manage completion of Portfolio level accounting with small team, including transfer pricing, bonus calculations and reconciliations

Qualification and skills:

  • Accounting designation (CPA or equivalent)
  • 7-10 years of finance and accounting experience, with experience in a technology-based environment an asset
  • Aptitude for teaching, coaching and mentoring
  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
  • Ability to handle a demanding work schedule and manage time effectively to meet deadlines
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
  • Self-driven and motivated
  • Advanced knowledge of Excel and experience with Great Plains and BPC consolidation software an asset
  • Ability to travel internationally (up to 50%)
