IT Systems Administrator will join a small team of experienced professionals working with the latest technology to provide support to our end users. The candidate's primary responsibility will be to monitor and maintain Trapeze IT’s systems and infrastructure. They will also improve and enhance our existing processes, contribute to group discussions, and devise creative ideas on solving problems. The Systems Administrator should be familiar with the latest concepts and technologies and should have in-depth knowledge of networking and hardware.
Support design, implementation, Configuration, and Administration of Linux and Windows operating systems to support various applications
Manage system patch management processes, imaging, scripting, and inventory control using Dell KACE
Plan and implement server upgrades, maintenance fixes, and vendor-supplied patches.
Manage server backups and recovery procedures
Participate in the service desk Incident/Service processes. Prioritize, categorize and respond to service desk tickets and/or escalate as appropriate
Update computer configurations to meet IT security requirements (such as, system patches, configuration management, antivirus client installation and configuration, central log management, etc.
Experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server and Oracle server, including installation of new SQL and Oracle Servers ** - don’t install databases for Oracle
Responsible for Data center’s servers, storage and load balancer, recommendations for new or enhanced systems, services and technologies throughout the company.
Mentor other staff members and provide assistance when need be.
Ability to work occasional nights and weekends to deal with outages and maintenance windows
Increase automation of proactive monitoring and daily tasks.
Perform file system configuration and management.
Create, Manage, Deploy SSL Certificates
Administer and maintain end user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
Create policy and documentation when necessary
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science and/or information technology and 2 - 3 years relevant work experience.
Extensive knowledge of VMware vSphere & vCenter Products
Working technical knowledge of Windows Server 2008 and higher is required
Experience with servers and Storage Area Networks technology (preferably with Dell)
Ability to be flexible in working varied hours
Occasional travel – up to 25%
VMWare Certification a plus, not required.
Experience with PRTG Monitoring System, Powershell, Veeam Backup Solution, Dell KACE is preferred
Extensive application support experience with Microsoft SQL Server is a desirable asset.
Knowledge of Linux operating system is an asset
