Renewal of public lighting in the municipality of Riehen

The street lighting of the municipality of Riehen has 3,000 light points of which around 2,600 light points need to be replaced. The street lighting to be replaced is the lighting of local streets. Currently, old compact energy-saving lights are used to illuminate these streets. For reasons of age and energy savings, these should be replaced by modern, centrally controlled LED lights.

According to the lighting strategy of the municipality of Riehen, all light points that are used to illuminate municipal roads are to be equipped with centrally controlled LED lights. In principle, the municipality of Riehen represents the following concerns:

- as much light as necessary - as little as possible,

- Use of the technical potential - centrally controlled LED lights.

The procurement concept provides for the conclusion of a framework agreement with which the provider undertakes to exchange around 2,600 light points on request in accordance with the conditions offered in the tender. The framework contract is concluded for 3 years with the option to extend it for a further 2 years.
