Urban transit could be considered the future of transport. With population increasing and the number of cars per household increase, highways and roads will reach a max point of congestion. Urban transport creates a sustainable, environmentally friendly, hassle free way to travel from point A to point B. Sounds pretty great right? Well with each new metro line costing upwards of 4.5 billion dollars, the Federal Transport Authority (FTA) holds the fate of cities in their hands on who will receive a funding grant and who will not.
New urban transit increase gives software and technology companies a chance to become innovative and develop new designs to secure the safety of the passengers and the safety of the software implemented. The rules, regulations and overall enterprise of the urban transit is new in North American and light years behind Europe, but with new projects across the land, travel could become easier.
Join us for the first ever Rail Innovation Summit in Washington D.C. on August 24-26, 2015 to hear from government official, rail industry leaders and software designers behind the future of travel of urban transit.
