In a world where the economic situation weakens the companies, where the market – today considered as global – involves an industrial transition as well as a cultural transition, it is necessary to provide coherence to the process.

To sharpen competitive and performance edges, the sector needs cohesion. To be able to maintain a strong market position in the future, we absolutely need to be stronger and thus bigger by joining forces whenever required to provide the resources and to focus on our majors know-how.

We must create a vital technical and economic environment in a worldwide market setting up action plans designed along three main approaches:

1. To implement partnerships between companies (groups, a global offer)

2. To encourage the exportation

3. To have the right skills in the right place

That is the strategy of the Association of the railway industries (AIF) Nord Pas-de-Calais and Picardy. With more than 130 member companies, representing about 10 000 jobs in the sector, we work on a daily basis to achieve these various goals.
