Display Systems

Electronic Sign Systems

Give your passengers a sign of things to come.

Axion manufactures its own electronic sign systems to ensure a perfect match with our audio architecture. TFT screens offer the best possible readability, along with total ease of maintenance. Our light-emitting diode systems (LED) let you display your messages using dot matrix characters and are best suited for exterior signs. Given their luminous quality, they provide a dynamic, multipurpose visual effects.

Our sign components serve different purposes:

• Destination signs to inform people outside the vehicle of its itinerary
• Interior signs, integrated with our audio communication system, indicate station names, service messages, and other information
• Operator control panels allow attendants to view and select messages to be played
• Messages above seats inform attendants of passenger departure and arrival points; interactive maps indicate stops along specific routes

Axion is the first manufacturer in the world to have developed, manufactured, and put on the market Light Emitting Diode (LED) electronic destination signs for mass transit. This avant-garde technology was developed in Quebec in 1994 and installed on mass transit buses of many large-scale Canadian cities.

Components of a typical destination sign system are normally found at the front, rear, and side of transit buses and display the vehicle's route in a neat and clear fashion. Moreover, the multiple-functionality of this technology offers a performance and reliability yet to be equalled on the market—all while contributing to minimizing the operating and maintenance costs of a mass transit fleets.
