Quality products and happy customers have made us the Number One manufacturer of passenger information systems in Germany. Thanks to LUMINO, your passengers feel precisely informed and they travel on time. Our systematic precision helps you reach your goal as well satisfied customers. Every day. Every way.
Made by LUMINO means made in Germany. At the company headquarters in Krefeld, a team of specialists develops products that have no match when it comes to technical precision. The production is based in Germany as well. Close cooperation with public transport companies in Germany and on the growing European market has always been an inherent part of our strategy. For three decades, a whole industry branch has been trying to emulate the cost and energy efficiency, the longevity and the design of our products. As early as 2000, DFI displays made by LUMINO have been awarded the internationally renowned "Design Award" and the "Ecology Design Award".
On this web site you find concrete reference projects as well general information about LUMINO-product range and about the latest novelties like the Information Column or the digital speech device DAG 415 T. Follow the bright spots en route to quality.
The multiple Award-Winning Lumino DFI-Display Unit offers an ideal way to distribute information. It can be read up close and from great distances, and it can be used inside the station or on access ways, indoors as well as outdoors.
The FLED-Display Unit boasts an impressively flat design. Its text size and case design, which offers flexible installation possibilities, are optimized for operation on small stations.
Information stele meets all requirements for a superb optical and acoustic passenger information at bus stops and stations, integrated in a closed case and perfect in design as well as technical implementation.
Decorated in a modern design ViFis® is a compact, highly integrated device, which sustainably unites all information services for passengers at a stop.
Our acoustic Passenger Information Tools do not require an additional communication system but use the same data network as the display units.
In addition to automatic standard announcements it is possible to broadcast pre-recorded messages or do live microphone announcements. For the visually handicapped, there is a "Text on Demand" feature.
The components of complex DyFIS installations use a TCP/IP protocol to communicate with each other as well as with external systems, such as host computers and/or schedule administration systems.
All display units and announcement units within a station are controlled from a central point. Detection units capture the train or bus positions and send their data to the DFI computers for processing.
Many "Intermodal Transport Control Systems" (ITCS) by different manufacturers feature interfaces for Passenger Information Systems. LUMINO offers the Know-How and all necessary infrastructure elements to supply the display units with information through those interfaces. The Lumino system supports all the usual protocols defined by those manufacturers (like "PACOS", "PIPS" and "MOFIS"), but many customers also use the protocols suggested by LUMINO, like the safe and flexible yet easy to use "DP1" and the universal "MFI".
At the DyFIS-workstation, the controller can monitor and operate the passenger information system. The workstation shows the current train or bus positions and display contents and allows comfortable editing of special announcements. The controller can intervene at any time to announce schedule changes.
