We are members of Rail Delivery Group which brings together the owners of Britain's Train Operating Companies, Freight Operating Companies and Network Rail to provide leadership to Britain's rail industry.
Together with our joint venture partner Abellio we operate two of Great Britain's train operating companies. We commenced operation of Merseyrail in 2003. This is a 25 year concession awarded by Merseytravel providing local train services to the Liverpool City Region.
Based in Derby and with a long history of providing independent technical services to the rail industry is Serco Rail Technical Services. The range of specialist services includes the operation of one of Europe's leading test tracks as well as specialist engineering and data management activities.
In the Middle East we successfully implemented the first two stages of the Dubai Metro on behalf of Dubai RTA, and we are proud to be sustaining one of the top performing Metros in the world. We also operate and maintain the Palm Jumeirah Monorail and an Automated People Mover at Dubai Airport. In September 2013 we were awarded the contract to operate the Al Sufouh Tram System in Dubai. Serco will initially be involved a 15 months period of mobilisation followed by five years of service delivery.
In the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia we have provided technical and operational support to ensure that the Mekkah Metro was introduced successfully.
Serco has a depth of experience in providing safe services in complex marine environments. We run a number of critical and lifeline services where customers expect efficiency and customer service.
Serco operates more ships under the UK flag than any other company, including extensive operations in the international marine market through Marine Services Support for the Royal Navy and Defence Marine Services in Australia.

Serco provides bus operations and systems around the world.
In the USA we provide a bus transportation service to and from Washington Dulles International Airport for the US National Conservation Training Centre. The training centre is used by US Government Agencies for training seminars.
In the UK we provide specialised transport for special educational needs pupils and Social Services staff in Bradford to schools, hospitals and care centres.
Serco's experience in bus operations is very diverse and includes providing on demand and scheduled services for the RAF (Ministry of Defence).
Major towns in the UK, including Birmingham, Coventry and Sheffield use Serco's real time passenger information on next bus arrival times.
Serco is the only significant non-government provider of air traffic services in the world. We operate on a global basis and handle about 6 million aircraft movements each year at airports in Europe, the Middle East and North America.
In the UK our work for the Ministry of Defence includes multi-activity support contracts at RAF Northolt, home to 32 (The Royal) Squadron, and RAF Brize Norton. We also manage Scatsta Airport on the Shetland Isles. At the International Fire Training Training Centre located at Teeside Airport, we deliver training in a wide range of fire-fighting and rescue skills - it is the leading facility of its kind in the world.
In the US, we operate 54 air traffic control towers for the Federal Aviation Administration. We also provide air traffic engineering, meteorological services, rescue and fire-fighting services, electronic and electrical maintenance services and other airport support services such as catering and cleaning.
In the Middle East we successfully rebid our contract in the United Arab Emirates - held since 1986 - to provide air traffic control and engineering services at the Emirates Area Control Centre in Abu Dhabi.
