MTA Capital Construction, through its project management consultant AECOM, is seeking a Communications Associate to support the East Side Access Director of Communications and Community Outreach in developing and implementing internal communications and external communications efforts. This position requires excellent creativity, exceptional time management and organizational skills, as well as the ability to adapt, respond quickly and juggle multiple tasks at one time.
Provide various internal project teams/departments with graphic and presentation support
Contribute to the creation of eye-catching graphics, presentations and print/digital collateral
Research and draft client-facing materials, including memos, presentations, press releases, and social media content
Assist with the coordination of tours of various project sites for internal and external organizations and groups.
Organize project tour vetting packages and materials for review; assist with the setup and leading of tours
Provide content and content management support for the project intranet site including preparing articles, graphics, images and updates to project information, ensuring relevance and accuracy of data
Assist with the management of digital and social media platforms such as Twitter, Instagram, Flickr, Facebook, blogs, etc.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field
Strong writing and verbal communication skills, as well as internet research skills
Ability to problem solve, build relationships, and take the initiative
Ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities in a fast paced environment, with occasionally limited resources, while meeting deadlines
Ability to work individually and with a team
Proficient in Microsoft programs including Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Word
Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite including Photoshop, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, InDesign, Lightroom and Premiere Pro
Basic understanding of HTML
Proficiency using Apple products
Interest in public service, the public sector, transportation, infrastructure or construction a plus
