We are looking to recruit a Senior Product Safety and Reliability Engineer for our Product Engine Rolling Stock team, to be located in Mannheim, Germany.

Your role:

•As a Senior Product Safety and Reliability Engineer you will perform a diversity of activities within the Safety and Reliability area within the whole lifecycle of the Bombardier Transportation’s products and subsystems.

•You will be responsible of providing the necessary safety and reliability analysis based on internal and/or third-party documentation.

•By applying your knowledge and experience, you will contribute on the improvement of BT’s relevant Safety and Reliability processes, such as Product Family Specifications and Development, Bid and Conceptual Design, Preliminary and Detailed Design and Validation and authorization.

•You will be in charge of activities within various areas such as realization, authorization, operation and field support of the product/subsystems aiming to ensure that the product will finally meet its safety and reliability requirements.

•As part of your daily responsibilities, you will perform activities related to risk management along the project lifecycle as well as monitoring of safety performances in O&M phase including the management of the incidents, accidents and near-misses.

•You will represent the interface and will support both internal and external stakeholders for various tasks during the product’s lifecycle for product safety and reliability tasks within projects teams (pre-bid activities to product monitoring).

•You will be required to provide implementation feedback and suggestions for BT’s Product Safety Management Systems and Reliability procedures.

•Furthermore, you will supervise and develop the Product Safety and Reliability Engineers and you will be in charge of complex assignments and high risk matters and projects.

•You will be part of the BT’s document approval process and product full cycle validation activities.

Your responsibilities:

•Your area of responsibility will include Product Safety and Reliability assessment and documentation activities in projects or supporting the TRAXX Product Family organization.

•You will ensure the communication and will support the other engineering functions, assessors and stakeholders with respect to project or Product Family work.

•You will lead the Product Safety activities related to the management of incidents, accidents and near-misses.

•You will be in charge of planning, reporting and horizontal activities associated with the role.

Qualifications

•You possess an University Degree (B.Sc., M.Sc. or equivalent), or an equivalent working experience.

•You have gained a 3-5 years of working experience Postgraduate

•You are knowledgeable and experienced in the application of safety and reliability assessment techniques (FTA, risk matrix, FME(C)A, etc.);

•You have proven experience in the application of relevant software tools (e.g. DOORS, Fault Tree+, etc.).

•You are knowledgeable and experienced in the interpretation and application of relevant standards, laws, regulation: which may include EN 5012x, MIL-STD-882, IEEE Std 1012, CSM for Risk Assessment, etc.

•Background knowledge in any particular engineering area (e.g. brakes, etc.) may be beneficial.

•Language: English and local language.
