Lead QA Engineer (Charlotte, US)

About the Role

Our Quality Assurance team is an integral part of our software development process. We are looking for someone with the expertise to lead us into the next phase of our QA efforts. As the QA Engineer Lead, you will work alongside and lead a team of QA engineers to develop a product testing strategy/framework and define/maintain the respective automation testing approach. 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day functions and test strategies of a product vertical while remaining heavily hands-on with your own QA work
  • Ensure all software delivered by Passport is of the highest quality practically possible
  • Collaborate with Engineering Team Leads to build out Passport's test automation framework
  • Review production incidents to identify hot areas and lead efforts to fix identified incidents
  • Pair with developers, support engineers, and the senior level engineering team to design scalable testing strategies
  • Suggest and implement relevant testing technologies within Passport's existing technical environment to drive overall improvement, functionality, and efficiency of our environment
  • Work with various types of QA - Mobile Applications, Web Applications, Front End, Backend, Manual, Automation, and Systems - with a focus on product quality

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of software QA experience, 3+ years in automation, required
  • Experience with automation QA tests, processes, and reports, required
  • Experience with Agile methodologies and Test Driven Development, required
  • Experience with automation testing for web-based APIs such as REST, preferred
  • Experience creating automation frameworks from scratch, including tool selection, preferred
  • Experience applying test automation as part of CI/CD
  • Experience using object-oriented programming languages, such as Java
  • Experience with unit testing, integration testing, performance testing, and regression testing
