The role of the Field Service Technician is to provide professional service to support the Automated Fare Collection system. This person will provide quality support and maintenance for over 20 Ticket Vending machines installed on the Hartford Rail Line. The successful candidate will work within the guidelines established by the Trapeze Automated Fare Collection department and will follow established procedures while representing Trapeze Software group.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Support the maintenance of the TVMs
Creates service reports documenting service level and repair activities
Responds to trouble calls within a set time frame on each of the TVMs to keep them in service
Performs routine maintenance on the components of each of the machines
Performs preventative maintenance on the components of the machine per a set schedule
Coordinates service of the machines with necessary personnel at the Transit Authority
Will be asked to resolve calls for remote technical support
Manage Returned Material Authorizations and Service priorities.
Maintains the quality / cleanliness of the outside of the machine
Maintains a documented inventory of spare parts.
Maintains a clean and organized work environment
2 - 4 years’ experience maintaining light equipment is a must.
An associate’s degree is required. Preference given to technical field degrees.
Must be a self-starter and be able to work independently in a very public environment
Must have advanced computer troubleshooting skills
Must have experience using Microsoft word and Excel to support reporting
Able to remove and replace electromechanical components is required.
Experience maintaining vending machines is highly desirable
Technically competent in the repair of mechanical assemblies
Excellent written and oral English skills is preferred
Valid driver’s license
Ability to work varied hours
Be able to pass a standard background security check
Must occasionally lift / move up to 50 lbs.
