Sunshine on railway

Construcciones y Auxiliar de Ferrocarriles S.A. (CAF) has received funding to support its Research & Development project: MONITORING AND DIAGNOSIS SOLUTIONS FOR ADVANCED MANAGEMENT OF KEY ROLLING GEAR COMPONENTS FOR RAILWAY VEHICLES (SENSEROD), which is jointly financed by the European Union with the European Project Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Programme Smart Growth 2014-2020.

The SENSEROD project is launched with the aim of optimising advanced management of railway vehicle rolling gear, thanks to the development of monitoring and diagnosis tools and solutions to maximise the useful life and availability of railway vehicles, while increasing their reliability.

Furthermore, CAF has also received funding to support its Research and Development project: HIGH-RELIABILITY ADVANCED TECHNOLOGIES TO MAXIMISE THE SERVICE LIFE, SAFETY AND AVAILABILITY OF RAILWAY VEHICLES IN SERVICE (AXIS), which is jointly financed by the European Union with the European Project Development Fund (ERDF) Operational Programme Smart Growth 2014-2020.

The main purpose of the AXIS Project is to overcome current constraints in axle design and maintenance technology of railway vehicles and as a result, boost and promote the Spanish railway industry growth and internationalisation.
