Sulingen-based Fritz Gaumann bus company's acquisition of a new S 415 LE business bus marks a double anniversary. The two-axle bus is the 50th vehicle of the brand put into service by the family business from Lower Saxony. At the same time, it is the 500th low-entry bus of the current Setra MultiClass delivered to a German customer.

For Gaby Gaumann, who has taken over the long-established company from her father and now manages it in the third generation, the ceremony to mark the acquisition of the vehicle at the Setra Customer Centre in Neu-Ulm was another milestone in the long-standing partnership: "I grew up with Setra and feel in good hands with the brand just like in a family“.

Gaumann Company was founded in 1924 as a trucking company, and for more than half a century the company, which today uses its buses in line service and tourist transport, has been relying on Setra. The first two vehicles, an S 9 and an S 10 of model series 10, were added to the fleet as far back as 1965. Apart from the close contact with the sales team, the managing director has for decades considered the high build quality of the vehicles and the high resale value to be decisive buying arguments.

It is therefore no surprise that all 22 current buses of Fritz Gaumann Bus Company, which currently has 26 employees, carry the Setra nameplate. The anniversary bus is equipped with 45 seats, has a special-use area for wheelchairs and strollers, and offers 38 standing spaces. It will see service in the Diepholz District.

With her new MultiClass Setra, Gaby Gaumann is upbeat about future tendering specifications by the local authorities: "The S 415 LE business meets all relevant legal requirements and thanks to its barrier-free low-floor design scores points in particular when it comes to transporting disabled passengers.“

Two new Setra coaches for company anniversary

On the occasion of its 25th company anniversary, Saxon travel service Dreßler GmbH took possession of two touring coaches of the Setra ComfortClass 500. The S 515 HD and the S 516 HD are the company's first vehicles with Euro VI engines. The two-axle and three-axle "Edition25“ vehicles will transport passengers to travel destinations all over Europe.

"The eco-friendly engine technology ensures that our customers can travel to Norway, Morocco, Austria or Scotland with a clear conscience“, says a pleased Steffen Dreßler, who manages the company from Heidenau together with his wife Dagmar and his brother Michael.

Ever since the company was founded in 1991, one thing was clear: once Setra, always Setra. Dreßler Travel Service, which today employs 15 people full-time, only uses coaches of the Ulm-based brand: "Setra was our house brand from the start, and we have put a total of 37 vehicles of the brand into service“. Both the S 515 HD with 44 seats and the S 516 HD with 48 seats are classified in the four-star category. Both touring coaches offer their passengers, among other things, free Wi-Fi access for electronic devices.

For Steffen Dreßler, who has particularly valued the close relations with Setra Sales for many years, the 25-year partnership of the two companies is based on mutual benefit. During the handover ceremony in front of travel clients at the Neu-Ulm Setra Customer Centre, he said: "We admire and honour the fact that the touring coaches of the Setra brand are produced exclusively in Germany. We aim to support this by taking possession of our new vehicles. Because every customer who books a trip with us also contributes to preserving jobs at Setra in Neu-Ulm“. At the moment, the family business from the Upper Elbe Valley owns ten Setra buses and coaches used for tourist travel and line service.

Kantić Touristik takes possession of six Setra double-decker coaches

Bosnian bus company Kantić Touristik is cutting the age of its fleet of long-distance coaches with six new double-decker coaches of the Setra TopClass. The S 431 DT coaches are equipped with 83 seats, a galley and a toilet, and offer their passengers free Wi-Fi access and USB ports in each row of seats. Wheelchair users are able to use a special access ramp to board the vehicles, which are used on regularly scheduled long-distance routes throughout Europe.

Company owner Mujo Kantić emphasized the advantages of the Setra brand during the official handover of the coaches at the Neu-Ulm Setra Customer Centre: "The handicapped-accessible Setra coaches comply with all legal requirements in long-distance passenger transport, and meet our high standards in the areas of safety and quality in all aspects. They are also unbeatable with regard to comfort in my eyes“.

To be able to maintain these standards, the company from Bosnia and Herzegovina, which was founded in 1977 and has subsidiaries in Munich and Zurich, always relies on a young fleet. The touring coaches are replaced with the latest models after four years at most. And since the mid-1990s, all of them have carried the Setra nameplate. With the six new vehicles, the company, which employs more than 200 people and operates its own workshop, now has more than 100 Setra touring coaches of the Setra TopClass and ComfortClass in service.
