Light Rail Transit Success in Taiwan

Light Rail Transit in Taiwan

Demonstrating how the Pandrol Group is uniquely able to offer an unrivaled complete package of track fastening solutions, installation and maintenance equipment and rail safety products, Pandrol CDM Track and Pandrol France have been successfully selected by the CTCI Corporation to supply the Danhai Light Rail Transit project, Taiwan’s second Tramway line and one of the first Tramway projects in the Asia Pacific region.

Danhai Phase 1 has a total distance of 9.7km, which includes a 5.2km at-grade section and a 4.5km elevated section for which Pandrol CDM track will install its QTrack embedded track system. The award follows on from the company’s previous success in supplying the same system on the Kaohsiung LRT Phase 1. The project has been awarded to the consortium of China Steel Corporation (the Turnkey E&M contractor), United Steel Engineering & Construction (the Civil Contractor) and the Taiwan Rolling Stock Corporation. CTCI Corporation has been awarded the EPC contract for the track work package.

Pandrol France was selected by CTCI Corp. to supply DFF bonded baseplate fastening assembly as a compliant system for the Danhai project. DFF bonded baseplates have a long history of use in Taiwan and the Pandrol DFF version provides a well proven system with high level of electrical insulation and a compact baseplate footprint.
