Ixxi acquires Setim, a specialist in ticketing, operation assistance and passenger information systems

RATP Group subsidiary Ixxi continues to expand with the acquisition of Setim, a company that provides innovative solutions in ticketing, operation assistance and passenger information systems. Setim also assists transport authorities in ITS solution consulting assignments.

Setim is based in Saint-Etienne in southern France with a subsidiary in Mexico City and boasts acknowledged expertise in:

  • Designing and integrating ticketing solutions and operation assistance
  • Contracting authority assistance, consulting and support for technological and organisation projects in passenger urban and inter-urban transportation for small and medium-sized towns and surrounding areas.

Setim has a dozen staff members and boasts a heavyweight customer list in France, Mexico and Ecuador. It has undertaken contracting authority assistance assignments for a mobile NFC solution in Toulouse and Marseilles and a similar assignment to implement an assistance system for operations and passenger information in Aix-en-Provence. Setim has worked in Latin America to support the implementation of a ticketing system for the city of Chihuahua, Mexico, and to define an integrated ticketing system for Quito, Ecuador.

Ixxi President Pascal Auzannet stated, “after the establishment of the Ixxi Techside subsidiary in Bordeaux and the acquisition of Navocap, the second largest French supplier of public transport operating and passenger information systems, Ixxi is further consolidating its product offering and bolstering its presence on French and international markets in ticketing, passenger information and operating support systems.”

Ixxi is pursuing a dynamic investment policy for its expansion in developing products relating to ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) and acquiring innovative French companies. The latest acquisition is a new chapter in the growth of Ixxi which will accelerate in the years to come. The aim is to expand to 200 employees and revenue exceeding 80 million Euros by 2020.
