DB Regio NRW chooses r2p as their trusted partner for onboard security

Two people shaking hands

r2p announces a new order from Deutsche Bahn AG for supplying the innovative onboard Saloon CCTV solution to make travelling in regional trains even safer.

With the new order r2p will supply equipment for sixteen trains (ET 425), which are going to be operated by DB Regio NRW for the track RB27 from Mönchengladbach via Köln Hauptbahnhof to Koblenz Hauptbahnhof. The installation of the system will start in early 2018 and will include a full IP-based solution including the CD4 camera and the digital high-performance video recorder R16-X as well as network switches. The chosen system offers the operator real time live streaming and status management as well as high quality images with an image rate of up to 400 pictures per second.

The cooperation between Deutsche Bahn and r2p has started in 2012 with the Refurbishment Project ET 423 Frankfurt and has since then been expanded and intensified. Paul Martin Christiansen, Key Account Manager at r2p GmbH in Flensburg, says: “We are very happy that Deutsche Bahn has chosen r2p as their partner to further implement the DB safety initiative.”
