Trapeze Group today announced it has selected Microsoft Azure to power its mission-critical transit solutions that enable transit agencies to operate in more agile, secure, and compliant ways.
Trapeze will begin by integrating its reporting, business intelligence, and analytics software, ViewPoint, with Microsoft Power BI. ViewPoint provides actionable insights to transit leaders, by operating the present, explaining the past, and predicting the future. This enables transit agencies to make data-driven decisions, reducing the reliance on manual reporting that are redundant, time-consuming, and expensive.
Over 85% of the major transit agencies in North America use Trapeze to deliver smarter, safer, and more efficient public transit solutions to their communities. By allowing agencies to utilize and manage Trapeze solutions through cloud-based services, agencies can streamline their infrastructure provisioning and improve their compliance with regulations.
“Working with Microsoft allows us to deliver what our transit customers have been asking for: cloud-based systems that enable them to access their critical technology from wherever they are, at a moment’s notice. We’re excited for transit agencies to reap the benefits of Microsoft’s cloud-based technology which includes significant security and compliance and ease of use of managing web infrastructure,” said Kevin Bade, General Manager, Trapeze Group North America.
“Moving to Microsoft Azure ensures that Trapeze can focus on developing and delivering solutions that ultimately helps create smart, safe communities,” said Stephen Tanaka, CTO, One Commercial Partner, Microsoft Canada. “Trapeze solutions on Azure also helps transit agencies better manage overall resources and processes so they can keep public transit services moving efficiently.”
Trapeze’s Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) and Traveler Information (TI) solutions are also cloud-ready.
EAM is in use by over 100 transit agencies in North America. EAM tracks all transit infrastructure, ultimately reducing the cost of owning and operating vehicles while extending their life and keeping them safe to operate.
Trapeze’s TI products deliver scheduled and real-time information to transit passengers, and allows transit agencies to improve customer communications which can ultimately increase ridership.
