40 VDL Citeas SLF for Oman

On Sunday 8 November 2015 ONTC (Oman National Transport Company) launched the new brand Mwasalat with the tagline ‘Your Destination Is Ours’.

Based on a multi-year master plan, ONTC are going to carry out their public transport ambitions for the future under this brand. The launch of Mwasalat also marked the kick-off for the first phase of the master plan, with the presentation of the new buses for this first phase, including the VDL Citea SLF. In order to give a strong boost to public transport in the capital city Muscat, ONTC ordered no fewer than 40 Citeas SLF from VDL Bus & Coach in the spring of 2015.

VDL Citea SLF

The Citea SLF (Low Floor), with its completely flat floor, is the ideal city bus. The low floor construction makes it exceptionally easy to enter the bus and offers optimal access, for travellers with a baby buggy or wheelchair for example. The Citeas for Oman are equipped with a climate control system with additional capacity, ensuring that the passengers can travel in comfort, even during extremely hot times of the year.

ONTC

Oman National Transport Company (ONTC) was founded in 1972. The company's mission statement is succinct yet strong: to provide the Sultanate of Oman with safe, accessible and reliable public transport services. ONTC wishes to provide attractive public transport by creating an optimal national network with comfortable, efficient and environmentally friendly vehicles.
